The forest
The forest is the dream beyond waking
Where you would wake from a nightmare into the waking world
You wake from the nightmare of waking
Into The Forest
It is the reprieve from nightmare
And the dark corner of the mind you daren't explore
Within the light of day
And it is the final dream that you mustn't wake from
No soul knows, nor has lived the asking, what lies beyond
Some dreams are best left undreamt
Some roads left untrodden.
Some slumbers left undisturbed
Return?
You have returned.
There are some who find sleep again
Some who return to the waking dreams
But most never find that trail
Most carve out a life in the swaying solemn boughs
A nook within the protective entombing roots
A life within The Forest
The others?
We mustn't speak of them.
